Chalcedony
Chalcedony is a silicon dioxide composed of submicroscopic quartz shards, coloured by pigments of other minerals. Chalcedony, like the other members of the Quartz family, has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale. Even though the Quartz fibres form chalcedony appear parallel or perpendicular, at a macroscopic level we can observe radiant stones, clumps or kidney shapes. Chalcedony deposits are found anywhere on Earth, especially in India, Brazil, Madagascar, and Turkey.
